So about those concerts... the only concert I had ever been to before last week was a Clay Aiken one. Don't get me wrong, the guy is extremely talented. However, I was about 12, and I remember being so far away that I could hardly even hear the words. Good thing I had them all memorized...not the point.
So I went to T-Swift last Wednesday. The show was so put together, she was very gracious, and her music was better live than it is on a CD. Two nights ago, I went to see Matt Nathanson, Maroon 5, and Train at the White River Ampitheater. It was fantastic. I don't even know where to start.
Maybe I could start here:
Yes. That is Matt Nathanson, hugging me. If that doesn't give you any indication of how my night went...I don't know what would. I have loved Matt Nathanson since the day my cousin Spencer bought me a CD of his at a family Christmas party. It has been my favorite for years ("Some Mad Hope" in case you want to look it up), and I told him that when I got my chance to meet him. He responded... and I quote...
"Oh no way!? Get IN on this hug right now!!"
So... I did.
I told him I would sing with him someday. I wasn't kidding.
So I'm making a collaboration with my friend Zach's musical BFF. The guy's name is Dave B, and his stuff is craaazy good. He's a rapper, and I figured we could pull out something like "Airplanes" with the whole catchy-chorus-amazing-rap-breaks thing. My part is completed, and I can't wait to hear it. I'll post it when it's done:)
More later,
Bergie
